Design Notes

The mitochondrial transit peptide was obtained from Arabidopsis thaliana and was inserted, thus replacing the chloroplast transit peptide.

Source

The Durio zibethinus GCL gene is obtained from GenBank (gene ID: LOC111291428) coding sequence (XM_022883172.1; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/XM_022883172.1?from=132&to=1712). The gene was modified at the 5'-terminus with Arabidopsis thaliana mitochondrial succinate dehydrogenase iron-sulphur subunit (AJ278910.1; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/AJ278910.1?report=genbank&from=13&to=852) to change the subcellular localization from chloroplast to mitochondria.
